Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CreatorLens ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and application (the "Service").

This document is a starting template for CreatorLens. It is not legal advice. Have a qualified attorney review it for your jurisdiction and business before launch.

1. Information we collect

Account information

  • Email address, name, and profile details you provide
  • Authentication data from providers you use (for example Google sign-in)

Connected platform data

  • When you connect YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram, we receive tokens and profile/channel data, and may sync videos and basic metrics you authorize
  • If you use Studio publish features, we process video files and captions you upload or generate in order to publish at your request

Usage and billing

  • Product usage (feature access, AI credit usage, sync status)
  • Billing details processed by Stripe (we do not store full card numbers; Stripe acts as payment processor)

Technical data

  • IP address, device/browser type, and basic logs needed for security and debugging
  • Cookies or similar technologies required for authentication and session management

2. How we use information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Sync analytics and generate AI insights, scripts, titles, thumbnails, and captions
  • Publish content to platforms you select when you use Studio
  • Process subscriptions, trials, and customer support
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. AI processing

Some features send prompts and relevant channel/content context to AI providers (such as OpenAI) to generate outputs. Do not submit sensitive personal data you do not want processed by those providers. AI outputs may be stored in your account history (for example drafts, scripts, or studio posts).

4. How we share information

We share information with:

  • Service providers that help us operate (hosting, database, auth, payments, AI) — currently including providers such as Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, and OpenAI
  • Platforms you connect when you authorize sync or publishing (YouTube/Google, TikTok, Instagram/Meta)
  • Legal authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data retention

We retain account and service data while your account is active and as needed to operate the Service, resolve disputes, and meet legal requirements. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us. Connected-platform tokens are removed when you disconnect; some residual logs may remain for a limited period for security.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secrets stored in environment configuration. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your choices

  • Update profile and notification preferences in Settings
  • Disconnect social platforms at any time
  • Cancel paid plans via the billing portal
  • Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing us

Depending on where you live (for example EEA/UK or certain US states), you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. Contact us to exercise those rights.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International transfers

We may process data in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. By using the Service, you understand your information may be transferred to those locations.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the revised version with an updated "Last updated" date.
